Dear Editor,

The caution of your November 18 cover story “Green
Dreams – The Risky Boom in the Clean-Energy
Business” is well advised.  The way we guzzle power
from the grid, connecting solar electricity and wind
power, merely buys more rounds for drunks.  We pay
huge subsidies because our electric drinkers are told
photovoltaics and wind leave no hangover. Why not cut
back on the juice and consider more cost effective uses
of the sun; natural lighting, heating, drying and cooling?

Sincerely,
Steve Baer
